A 6 MONTH ROLLING CONTRACT ROLE opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality/FAI Engineer in the North West.
Working a 4 Day working week Monday to Thursday. Hours 07:15 till 17:00.
Immediate start available for the successful applicant.
Rates advertised are based on Umbrella and Limited Company options, and for both local applicants (lower value), or travelling contractors (higher value).
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and organised Quality/FAI Engineer to manage the creation, review, and submission of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in compliance with relevant standards. The ideal candidate will support quality assurance efforts across product development and manufacturing to ensure conformance to customer and industry requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
•Awareness of AS/EN 9102 Standard
•Prepare, review and submit FAIRs for aerospace components in compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
•Coordinate with production, engineering, and supply chain to gather documentation for FAIRs.
•Ensure proper documentation of part revisions, drawing specifications, and traceability.
•Maintain organised records and logs of all FAIR activity for audit readiness.
•Support the organisation in resolving issues that arise from FAIR compilation
•Interface directly with operations, suppliers and stakeholders to achieve internal and customer expectations.
•Fully conversant with AS1900 and AS9102 requirements for FAI.
•Utilise continuous improvement tools and methodology to increase efficiency and right first time within the FAI process.
Experience of working with FAIRs previously is essential, as is a strong working knowledge of First Article Inspection Report requirements, and a familiarity with aerospace standards including AS/EN 9102 and customer-specific quality clauses.
The role is for someone with an excellent can-do attitude, who is able to organise their own workload, and has a flexible attitude.
