Multi-Skilled Technician (Elec) Job Description
Position Overview
Form part of a team to provide a high level of maintenance support to the M & E Supervisor to meet Mitie contractual obligations. This role is working on a shift pattern (7am-3pm followed by a week of 2pm-10pm). The successful candidate will need to pass a DBS prior to starting the role. You will be entitled to a shift allowance. The role will cover Royal Victoria Infirmary hospital plus the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle as required
Responsibilities
1. Ensure that all day-to-day planned preventative maintenance activities of M&E maintenance is completed in line with our contractual obligations.
2. Ensure all plant and equipment are maintained in accordance with the O&M manuals, best practice and relevant guidelines/legislation.
3. Assist in supervising subcontractors and monitor SSOW, policies and procedures.
4. Carry out isolations for specialist maintenance sub-contractors.
5. Respond to all reactive calls in line with our contractual time scales, complete job sheets, reports and documentation as required.
6. Carry out testing on Emergency lighting system to BS EN, rectify any faults resulting from the testing.
7. Participate in the weekly fire alarm testing
8. Carry out fixed wire testing as required to BS EN
9. Carry testing to the site lightning protection system to BS EN
10. Work safely at all times in accordance with SSOW, policies and procedures.
11. Able to work independently and as part of a team.
12. Professional approach and image must be adhered to at all times.
13. Keep all plant/rooms / services enclosures clean, tidy safe and secure.
14. Undertake any ad-hoc duties that may be necessary during the course of your working shift.
15. Be aware of the business continuity plan for the part of the business you work in.
16. Undertake training as required
What we are looking for
Essential
17. Previous experience of electrical and or multi-disciplined maintenance, including LV, lighting, fire alarms, emergency lighting systems, nurse call, DHW, LTHW, and Ventilation Systems.
18. Must have good interpersonal skills, and pay attention to detail
19. Must have experience and competence in relevant Health & Safety legislation
20. Capable of acting under own initiative
21. Commitment to high quality service provision
22. Excellent customer awareness and team working skills
Desirable
23. 18th Edition or C&G
24. Desire to attain competency in other aspects of building services
25. Commitment to personal development
26. General building maintenance/Fabric experience.
