Job Title: Occupational Health Technician
Location: Chippenham (with potential occasional travel)
Contract Type: Full-time, temporary, 6 months
About the Role
We are seeking an organised, proactive, and highly motivated Occupational Health Technician to join our growing Occupational Health team. Based primarily in Chippenham.
In this role, you will work closely with the Occupational Health Nurse and wider OH team to deliver health assessments, manage occupational health systems, and support various workplace wellbeing initiatives. You’ll also be responsible for helping to ensure legal compliance in line with HSE and GDPR standards.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver and support mandatory health surveillance programmes across multiple sites (UK & Ireland)
Conduct health assessments, including audiometry, spirometry, vision testing, DSE and night worker assessments
Set up, manage, and maintain the Occupational Health software system (post-implementation), ensuring GDPR compliance
Assist in the planning and delivery of health promotion and wellbeing campaigns
Organise and calibrate OH equipment to ensure compliance with legal requirements
Maintain accurate, confidential health records in line with medical confidentiality and data protection legislation
Provide detailed OH reports and KPIs to key stakeholders
Support the OH team in audits, meetings, and the development of new health initiatives
Carry out pre-employment and exit medicals for all employees
Communicate with external service providers for specialist screenings or equipment servicing
Keep up to date with relevant legislation and professional development in Occupational HealthWhat We’re Looking For
Experience in an Occupational Health or health screening role is preferred
Competency in using or setting up OH software systems (training can be provided)
Strong administrative and organisational skills
Knowledge of health surveillance procedures and legal requirements
Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently
A proactive and flexible approach with a willingness to travel regularly
Awareness of confidentiality and GDPR in relation to health records
