An opportunity to join the adult mental health inpatient team at NHS Ayrshire and Arran.
What You Will Do
As a Registered Nurse working at the Woodland View facility within Ayrshire Central Hospital, you will assist in the provision of high-quality nursing care, providing person-centred, recovery-focused interventions and nursing therapies as part of a multidisciplinary team. As a registered Mental Health Nurse on Part 3 of the NMC register, you will be an integral member of the in-patient team, delivering high-quality clinical care for people with mental health challenges. You will have responsibilities for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care, ensuring that clinical practice delivers high-quality care. A genuine interest in working with people experiencing mental health problems is essential; experience in a care setting or related role is desirable. Successful applicants will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and should have excellent communication, interpersonal and time-management skills, along with a positive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively.
Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required
You will support the nursing team in providing safe and effective clinical practice and contribute to improving patients’ experience of care. You will aid in delivering the department’s objectives while working with the multidisciplinary team. You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a well-developed knowledge of care for people with mental health problems. You should show a willingness to engage in training opportunities to enhance your knowledge and provide evidence of professional development.
Requirements
* UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership: A full UK driving licence is essential.
* Flexible approach to shift patterns across a 24/7 period.
Hours
Ward 11 is a permanent 37-hour per week RMN post, plus a fixed-term RMN post to cover maternity leave until February 2026. A flexible approach to shifts will be essential.
