Forklift Driver / Yard Worker

Hours: 40 hours per week
Pay Rate: £13.23 per hour
About the Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established and growing manufacturer within the construction supply sector. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Forklift Driver / Yard Worker to join a busy, modern production environment where reliability, safety, and teamwork are highly valued.
This role is key to ensuring the efficient movement, handling, and storage of materials across site, supporting both warehouse and production operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely and efficiently
2. Load and unload deliveries accurately, ensuring no damage to goods
3. Transport materials between yard, warehouse, and production areas
4. Carry out routine checks on equipment and report any defects promptly
5. Ensure all stock is handled, labelled, and stored correctly
6. Support production and warehouse teams as required
7. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
8. Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations
9. Follow site procedures and company standards at all times
10. Assist with general yard and warehouse duties when needed
About You
Essential Requirements:
11. Valid forklift licence (Counterbalance and/or Reach)
12. Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment
13. Strong awareness of health and safety practices
14. Good attention to detail and accuracy
15. Ability to work effectively within a team
16. Reliable, punctual, and flexible approach to work
Desirable:
17. Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
18. Knowledge of stock control processes
19. Familiarity with warehouse or inventory management systems
