EVENT OPERATIONS MANAGER

Ideally based in Manchester or Liverpool, the purpose of the Event Operations Manager is to manage the onsite reusable product operational programme and be the main point of contact onsite for a range of customers in the sports and music sectors. This role suits someone with previous experience in people management within multi-site or standalone operational venues.
This is a 'hands-on' role requiring a 'can-do' attitude. The North & Midlands event calendar operates 12 months a year. You would be expected to work flexibly, including some weekends, evenings, and night shifts as required by the business.
Additional time off in lieu (beyond annual leave) will be provided to compensate for this.
Salary: £37.5K-£40K depending on experience + bonus + 25 days holiday + bank holidays, laptop/office equipment.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Managing the reusable product programme onsite at venues in your area, requiring travel within your region.
2. Managing and leading the reusable product Supervisor and onsite team during events.
3. Liaising and communicating effectively with the onsite venue operations team to ensure service delivery.
4. Managing the collection, sorting, and storage of reusable products for return to wash facilities.
5. Overseeing delivery and collection of reusable products with logistics teams.
6. Ensuring accurate completion of site documentation and event reports.
7. Meeting all health & safety requirements onsite and within the company.
8. Providing management support at designated events across the country as needed.
The ideal candidate:
* Is based in Manchester or Liverpool (preferred).
* Has experience in people management in multi-site or standalone venues.
* Has experience working for a major UK contract caterer (desirable).
* Has experience in the events industry (advantageous).
* Possesses a good standard of education.
* Has confident IT and numeracy skills (essential).
* Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills (essential).
* Holds a forklift/telehandler license (training can be provided).
* Holds a full UK driving license with flexibility to travel.
* Has an interest in sustainability and environmental issues.
* Has previous project management experience (useful).
* Can lead by example and set high standards.
* Is flexible to work weekends, evenings, and night shifts as required.
