Purpose of the role
To enable the success of the business and assist senior leaders navigate complex challenges, make informed decisions, and achieve their goals
Accountabilities
* Collaboration with business and senior leadership to develop and implement business strategies that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
* Liaison between different business units and functions, fostering communication and collaboration.
* Management and coordination of strategic initiatives, projects, and change management efforts to optimize business processes and strengthen the control environment.
* Improvement of operational efficiency within the organisation including the identification of areas for improvement, streamlining of processes, and implementation of best practices to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
* Development of performance reporting for key metrics that reinforce the strategic objectives of the division and support the external commitments made. Involvement in aspects of financial analysis and budget management, including assistance in financial planning, forecasting, and monitoring of financial performance against targets.
* Support to business heads in partnership with HR on hiring, workforce planning, joiner/mover/leaver actions.

* To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions/ business divisions.
* Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function. Set objectives and coach employees in pursuit of those objectives, appraisal of performance relative to objectives and determination of reward outcomes

* OR for an individual contributor, they will lead collaborative assignments and guide team members through structured assignments, identify the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialisation to complete assignments. They will identify new directions for assignments and/ or projects, identifying a combination of cross functional methodologies or practices to meet required outcomes.
* Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
* Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
* Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.

Join us as an Internal Communications Manager in the Customer and Digital team at Barclays, where you'll help define how we tell our story - increasing employee engagement and ensuring our stakeholders understand our strategy and the value we add.
In this role you'll play a central part in advising leaders on effective communication approaches and help colleagues stay connected to what matters most. You'll identify and create engaging content, turning complex messages into clear, audience focused communications, and deliver through a range of channels including weekly newsletters, Viva Engage and division-wide events.
To be successful as an Internal Communications Manager, you should have:
* Substantial experience working in an internal communications role within a central or local communications function.
* Previous experience of creating and delivering successful multi-channel internal communications strategies in a professional setting.
* Demonstrable experience in identifying and creating engaging content across a range of formats, including written, visual and video, and delivering through a variety of channels including email, social media and in-person events.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to quickly grasp complex issues.
* Ability to build and develop effective stakeholder relationships, including engagement at senior levels up to MD.
Some other highly valued skills may include:
* Great project management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Experience in developing employee brand, external communications or change management
* Ability to film and edit videos for internal engagement
* Proficiency with Canva and other graphic design tools, as well as great PowerPoint skills
* Reporting and evaluation capabilities to measure communication effectiveness
* Experience in financial services communications
* Background working in large organisations

This role can be based in either London, Northampton, Manchester or Glasgow.
