SEN Teaching Assistant – KS1 to KS4 | 1:1 SEND Support

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to work within a SEMH provision in a secondary school setting. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference for students with Special Educational Needs and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
You will provide tailored support to individual students, implement behaviour management strategies, and help create an inclusive, nurturing learning environment. Experience managing challenging behaviour is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 support to secondary-aged students with SEMH needs
Implement individual education plans and behaviour strategies
Support the development of social skills, emotional regulation, and resilience
Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral staff, and other professionals
Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour effectively
Requirements
Experience working with secondary school students with SEMH needs
Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and safeguarding procedures
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Calm, patient, and confident in challenging situations
