About the Role
As Maki & Ramen’s Deputy Executive Chef for the North England region, you will support the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations across our expanding sites in Manchester, Leeds, and future locations.
This role is ideal for a strong kitchen leader ready to step into a senior regional position, combining hands‑on culinary expertise with operational leadership and team development. You will play a key role in maintaining consistency, driving kitchen standards, supporting new openings, and fostering a collaborative and innovative kitchen culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation and culinary operations across multiple sites
* Assist with menu development, recipe innovation, and seasonal menu updates
* Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency across all North England locations
* Oversee food production standards, portion control, and cooking procedures
* Support new site openings, kitchen setup, and operational training
* Collaborate with management teams on promotions, events, and menu initiatives
* Assist with stock control, ordering, supplier management, and food cost monitoring
* Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen teams across the region
* Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations
* Ensure kitchens remain clean, organised, efficient, and aligned with company standards
Key Requirements
* Proven experience as a Senior Sous Chef, Head Chef, or similar senior kitchen leadership role
* Multi‑site hospitality experience preferred
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
* Solid knowledge of culinary techniques, food trends, and kitchen best practices
* Strong understanding of food safety regulations and kitchen compliance
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
* Creativity, attention to detail, and passion for quality food
* Strong communication, organisation, and problem‑solving skills
* Flexibility to travel across North England sites as required
