Description About the Role Reporting to the Procurement Coordinator, the Procurement Officer will provide day-to-day support in managing procurement activities. This part time role, based in our Scarborough office for 3 days (19.5 hours) per week, is a new position within the organisation, offering the opportunity to shape and make it your own. The role involves maintaining accurate procurement records, keeping documentation up to date, and supporting smooth operational processes. You will also collaborate with teams across the organisation to facilitate supplier selection, support negotiations, and ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures. Key responsibilities of this role include: Manage and maintain supplier relationships, from obtaining quotes to coordinating reviews. Provide administrative support, including record-keeping and reporting. Assist with sourcing activities, tenders, and negotiations under the guidance of the Procurement Coordinator. Ensure procurement processes are compliant, efficient, and well-documented. Identify opportunities to improve processes, consolidate suppliers, and deliver savings. Keep up to date with industry trends to support smart purchasing decisions. About You You are a motivated and adaptable professional who thrives in a busy environment and can balance multiple priorities with confidence. To be successful in this role, you will bring: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in procurement and/or finance operations within a medium-sized, complex environment, with the ability to manage a large vendor base. Strong administrative and organisational skills, with keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in processes. Proven ability to investigate, collect, and interpret data to support informed business decisions. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels while maintaining a strong customer service focus. A proactive and solutions-focused approach, demonstrating initiative, adaptability, and a positive, results-driven mindset. Proficiency in business systems and applications, including Microsoft Excel (intermediate level), Word, Outlook, and M365. Relevant qualifications in purchasing, procurement, or a related field, experience in the aged care, health, or not-for-profit sector and an understanding of services for older people and the ability to work respectfully with older clients will be highly regarded!
