Supported Fostering Services (SFS) is an established Welsh fostering charity based in Cardiff. We provide quality foster placements and bespoke packages of care for looked after children, with child-centred decision making at the heart of all our work.
At SFS the social worker’s role involves direct work with children in order to best represent their needs and wishes in the development and implementation of childcare plans, as well as the recruitment, assessment and support of foster parents. Join our small stable team working in the Cardiff and South Wales areas with the opportunity to make a real difference, improving outcomes for children within managed caseloads designed to allow time for proactive working.
Requirements
Skilled at forward planning and flexible thinking, you can anticipate problems before they arise and remain calm in complex situation. Good people skills, including the ability to motive and empower carers, are essential. You value supervision and teamwork but can act upon your own initiative, carefully taking into account the wishes and feelings of others. You will welcome joining an inclusive organisation with a genuine commitment to quality.
You must be a qualified social worker with relevant qualifications and registered with Social Care Wales.
