Role Overview
The Accounts Manager will manage a diverse client portfolio, providing expert accounting services, and will also be responsible for mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, understanding their goals and challenges, and proactively offering solutions. Organize and attend meetings to better understand client needs.
2. Delivery of Accounting Services: Work on a varied client portfolio, including corporate advisory, restructuring, MBOs, employee ownership, stamp duty/LBTT, and succession planning. Review corporation tax computations and returns for family and owner-managed businesses and corporate groups.
3. Business Development: Engage with clients regarding their tax matters, contribute to practice development, and participate in networking, seminars, and PR activities.
4. Colleague Collaboration: Support colleagues with complex tax issues, provide advice, review projects, and work with Partners to deliver advisory services.
5. Personal and Team Development: Maintain current technical knowledge, understand business and economic issues, and share information across the team. Manage productivity, recoverability, and billing effectively.
6. Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively across diverse stakeholders, liaise with advisors, and understand business success measures.
Success Indicators:
* Successful delivery of diverse tax advisory services
* Recognition as a tax expert, with clients requesting your involvement
* Growth in client base and expansion of specialized services
* Positive client feedback on tax and commercial advice
Candidate Profile
* Experience: Chartered Accountant, Tax Technician, or Tax Adviser qualification with at least 2 years post-qualified experience
* Technical Skills: Strong business or mixed tax expertise with leadership capabilities
* Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills, able to articulate complex information clearly
* Teamwork & Adaptability: Collaborative, supportive, flexible, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
