Job Overview
Post‑doctoral qualitative researcher for the ADAPT study within the Institute of Clinical and Applied Health Research at the University of Hull. The role is full‑time, 12 months, based in Hull and Bradford in collaboration with Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust and partner services.
Key Responsibilities
* Take day‑to‑day responsibility for the qualitative workstreams, including recruitment, data collection, analysis and supporting write‑up and dissemination.
* Project management alongside Principal Investigators, liaising with the project team and partners to facilitate successful team working and timely delivery.
* Finalise topic guides and other qualitative research materials for interviews and focus groups.
* Lead day‑to‑day liaison with SPMHS teams, Alcohol Care Teams and community partners to support identification and recruitment of women, partners and professionals.
* Coordinate and undertake in‑depth, semi‑structured interviews with women and partners (in‑person, online or telephone) and small group interviews where appropriate, ensuring a sensitive and trauma‑informed approach.
* Plan, organise and co‑facilitate focus groups with clinicians, clinical leaders and other service providers.
* Manage ethical and governance requirements, e.g. informed consent, safeguarding procedures, confidentiality, secure data handling.
* Lead the analysis of the qualitative data and synthesize findings with other research team members.
* Lead the write‑up of the qualitative results and contribute to the final report and publications.
* Deliver and disseminate research findings to partners and broader audiences.
* Organise and attend team meetings, workshops and public and patient involvement sessions.
* Provide regular progress updates to the Joint Chief Investigator and attend monthly Project Management Group meetings.
Qualifications
Experience as a qualitative researcher with a strong track record in perinatal/maternal health and/or alcohol use research. Domain expertise is essential for the ADAPT study. Experience managing qualitative projects, conducting interviews and focus groups, and ethical governance in an NHS setting is desirable.
