Overview

Location: Middlesbrough College Main Campus, TS2 1AD

Department: Teaching & Learning

Reporting to: English & Maths Innovation Manager

Contractual hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: £29,565 - £43,562 per annum

Teaching hours: 864 hours per annum

Annual Leave: 45 days per annum plus bank holidays

Basis: Full time, Permanent

Pension: Teachers Pension Scheme

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Lecturer in Maths to join our Teaching & Learning team. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the next generation of Mathematic professionals while playing a key role in a thriving academic community. The role involves delivering innovative and engaging lessons, planning and assessing coursework, and providing tailored support to meet individual learning needs. You will help foster an inclusive learning environment, inspiring students to reach their full potential. A degree in Mathematics or a related subject is essential, along with a teaching qualification or a willingness to work towards one. What You’ll Be Doing

As a Lecturer in Maths, you will:

* Deliver and manage high-quality, inclusive teaching, learning, and assessment in Maths within the Teaching & Learning sector.
* Plan a program of study for Mathematics that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of all students.
* Support students' academic and personal growth, helping them achieve their full potential.
* Develop and implement lesson plans that connect classroom learning to real-world applications.
* Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the learning experience and address the needs of all students.
* Support student recruitment, retention, achievement, and progression, providing guidance and tailored support.


What We’re Looking For

We seek candidates who:

* Are qualified teachers
* Possess current knowledge and experience in teaching Mathematics
* Hold GCSEs at Grade C / Level 4 or above in English and Maths, or an equivalent qualification
* Have a level 3 qualification or above in Mathematics related discipline
* Exhibit effective classroom management skills, alongside excellent time management and strong communication abilities
* Are skilled in preparing teaching materials using Information Learning Technology
* Have experience teaching GCSE Mathematics in either a school or further education (FE) setting and delivering exam-based qualifications (experience with Functional Skills is desirable)

*The Lecturer Salary Scale is from Pt 5 – Pt 16. The salary progression criteria beyond point 11 of the Lecturer scale will be based on you achieving and maintaining, on an annual basis, the Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) & QTS. To progress beyond point 14 of the Lecturer salary scale, you will be expected to achieve and maintain the Advanced Teacher Status (ATS).
