The Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will help in the smooth operation of our accounts payable platform, aid team members in navigating the process, and ensure compliance with company policies. Your responsibilities will include processing invoices, helping team members submit expense claims, and working with the procurement team to ensure policy compliance. You will serve as a critical control point to ensure the integrity of data flowing to the general ledger by ensuring AP entries are completed correctly.

Responsibilities
* Jump into the payables platform, learn everything there is to know about the system, become the expert.
* Approve and process invoices.
* Review and process employee expense claims, ensuring they align with company policies and travel guidelines.
* Be a point of contact for AP support to team members in the UK and Europe.
* Review submissions for errors, updating as required.
* Provide ad-hoc support to team members, including directing them to training materials and preparing process guides.
* Flexibility to take on additional tasks as required regarding expenses such as month-end activities, audit requirements, providing data for budget reviews.
Requirements
* Experience in a finance or accounting-related role, ideally with exposure to accounts payable.
* Desire and ability to support in a fast-moving environment.
* Strong character, confident in challenging at all levels.
* Quick to learn with the ability to shift focus as situations demand.
* Strong communication skills that can be adapted to support team members across different functions.
* Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of data.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
