Theatre, Critical Care, Anaesthetics, Pre‑op and Pain – Senior Care Support Worker (Band 3) Permanent – 16.5 hours per week.
* Welcome, orientate, and support patients, carers, relatives, and visitors, always demonstrating care, compassion, and professionalism.
* Observe, recognise, and promptly report any changes in a patient’s physical or psychological condition to the registered practitioner.
* Support registered practitioners and the wider multidisciplinary team in the delivery of patient care.
* Participate appropriately in emergency situations, including cardiac arrest, patient falls, and rapid deterioration.
* Escort and transfer patients safely between clinical areas within scope of practice and following appropriate delegation.
* Undertake Care After Death, ensuring religious, cultural, and personal wishes are respected.
* Support and assist patients with personal hygiene and fundamental care needs, including washing, dressing, oral care, skin care, hair and nail care, reporting any concerns to the registered practitioner.
The Senior Care Support Worker is a valued member of the Theatre team, supporting registered practitioners to deliver safe, compassionate, and high‑quality patient care. Working within agreed competencies, the role focuses on putting patients first, maintaining a calm and respectful care environment, and consistently demonstrating professionalism, dignity, and respect. The post holder will contribute to quality improvement, follow Trust policies and procedures, and help ensure every patient experience reflects our commitment to excellent care.
