HGV Class 2 Driver (Airside Aviation Environment)
Location: West Sussex (RH10 area)
Pay: £18.19 per hour
Overtime: Paid at 1.2x hourly rate after completion of 173 hours per month
Shift Pattern: 5 On / 3 Off - Rotating 9.5 hour shifts
Start Times: Between 3:00am - 10:00am (finishes between 12:30pm - 7:30pm)
Omnia Resourcing are recruiting HGV Class 2 Drivers on behalf of a leading global aviation services provider based in West Sussex.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on driving role operating airside, delivering aircraft catering and equipment safely and on time. You'll play a critical part in flight turnaround operations before passengers even board.
As an HGV Class 2 Driver, your responsibilities will include:
Driving high-loader and catering vehicles airside
Operating HGV Class 2 vehicles transporting catering trolleys, meals, beverages and equipment
Loading and unloading in line with galley plans (heavy lifting up to 25kg)
Delivering catering safely and on schedule to aircraft stands and terminals
Completing vehicle security checks and sealing vehicles with correct documentation
Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and reporting defects
Maintaining vehicle cleanliness and hygiene standards
Coordinating with flight crews and operations teams
Working to strict aviation safety, food hygiene and security procedures
Operating in a 7-day shift environment, with flexibility required depending on airside operational demands
Essential Requirements
Valid UK HGV Category C (Class 2) licence
Valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)
Digital Tachograph card
Ideally 6 points or less on full UK driving licence
Physically fit and capable of manual handling
Comfortable working at heights, in chilled environments (around 5°C), outdoors in all weather conditions and fast-paced settings
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Reliable, punctual and able to manage competing priorities
Before starting, you'll need a basic UK criminal record check, overseas check (if lived abroad in the last 5 years), and 5-year employment and address history verification. Omnia Resourcing will assist with all required references and documents.
