My client, a leading manufacturing and engineering company who specialise in the Aerospace industry are currently looking for experienced Millers and Turners to join their team. My client designs, engineers and manufactures a broad portfolio of aerospace components on both an MRO and OEM site. You will ideally be a multi skilled machinist and have experience with both CNC and Manual machining. Role: Set up and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools and precision components onto machine beds plus adjust and operate specialist machine tools in order to perform precision machining operations Monitor and adjust feed and speeds during the machining process to ensure efficiency of both the machine and speed of process Use of a wide and varied range of precision measuring equipment Read component maintenance manuals, complex drawings and engineering layout information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to complete repairs of parts within specified dimensions and tolerances Diagnose machine or tool malfunctions and determine need for adjustment or repairs What we would be looking for: Ideally you will have completed a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship or NVQ in Machining. If you do not have a level 3 qualification, we will support you to complete an NVQ Level 3 once you start. Previous experience on CNC and Conventional machines with an understanding of machining principles Ability to read production drawings Understand and Primarily Operate CNC Control systems Mill turning techniques Set and Run various CNC Machines & conventional machines. Be able to set own tools Understanding of Lean manufacturing techniques Shifts: Days, Lates and Nights - 2 weeks about Hours: 37 hour week. Shift premium: Day - First 45 minutes payment of 20% (1.2) Late - Premium of 25% (1.25) Weekend - Premium 45% (1.45)
