We are looking for highly motivated and creative SEN teaching assistants to join our growing, highly valued team.

At Esland Daven School, we offer high-quality education to 7 to 18-year-olds with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), primarily Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH).

Using our Turning the Curve model, we support vulnerable young people to "turn the curve" on their past experiences and build towards a positive new chapter.

We think that our teams are the best in the industry - if you want to join us, there has never been a better time!

What we need from you:

We are looking for a patient and consistent teaching assistant who can work independently, take initiative, and develop purposeful, strong relationships with children, staff, and parents. Experience in post-16 support, ASD, and ADHD would be advantageous but not essential.

The duties of a Teaching Assistant include (but are not limited to):

* Being alert to signs of distress or abuse.
* Talking and listening to young people, observing and recording behaviour when necessary.
* Contributing to and implementing care planning, reviews, and other meetings.
* Attending and contributing to supervisions and staff meetings as required, ensuring smooth handovers and adherence to reporting guidelines.
* Being prepared to physically intervene and restrain young people (following appropriate training).
* Undertaking tasks as directed by the HLTA or Headteacher to support young people and monitor pupil risk during educational activities.
* Participating in and supporting young people during outdoor and indoor activities.
* Preparing and presenting displays of student work.
* Collaborating with professionals such as Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Residential Care Workers as necessary.

Successful employment is subject to satisfactory enhanced disclosure, right to work, and reference checks in line with government regulations and Safer Recruitment Practices (the company will cover the costs).

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:

* GCSEs including Math, English, & Science.
* Teaching assistant experience (highly desirable).
* Teaching assistant qualification (desirable).
* Excellent planning and organizational skills.
* Self-starter demonstrating high motivation and commitment.
* Full manual driving license (desirable due to activities/location).

What we can offer:

* Commitment to continued professional development.
* A supportive, inclusive working environment.
* Enrolment into Esland pension scheme.
* Comprehensive, paid induction training (accredited through the Bild Association of Certified Training) and ongoing training.
* Opportunities for career development; over 50 colleagues promoted last year.
* Cycle to work scheme.
* A £500 bonus via our 'Refer a Friend’ scheme.
* Monthly recognition awards.
* Access to discounts via our employee benefits scheme E-Together.
* A day off for your birthday (in addition to holiday entitlement).
* Access to a free holiday home in the Peak District.
* The chance to make a real difference in a child's life!
