Palliative care is about providing comfort, dignity, and support to those facing serious illnesses. As a Clerical Officer, you will be at the heart of ensuring the smooth operation of our Specialist Palliative Care services, by supporting the clinical nurse specialists, palliative medicine consultants and Lead Nurse.
Your work will help ensure that patients and families receive the care they need when they need it most.

As this is a 7-day service, you will be required to work weekends on an estimated 1 in 4 basis. You will also need access to your own transport as you will be required to work between the sites of Royal Blackburn hospital and the Globe centre in Accrington.
Main duties of the job
* Managing patient records with precision and confidentiality
* Provide pro-active and responsive operational support to the team
* Supporting families and patients by providing clear, compassionate communication
* Assisting in the organisation of key meetings, ensuring the service runs efficiently
* Handling queries and providing administrative support to the specialist care team
* Minute taking
* Participation in data collection and quality improvements
* Dictation of consultant clinic letters.
