Due to the success and growth of our Environment and Planning Department based in Dublin, our portfolio of projects has increased significantly. We now wish to capitalise on this success and build on our ambition by expanding our Environmental and Planning Team. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Consultant with at least 5 years post graduate consultancy/public sector experience to join our Environmental and Planning Team to play an integral role in the continued success and growth of the company. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated candidate to join a well-established and reputable engineering and environmental consultancy, in a friendly, dynamic, and flexible working environment, and to further advance their career. The successful applicant will report to the Head of our Environmental and Planning Department. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Coordination, and preparation of Wastewater Discharge Authorisation applications in line with relevant Environmental Protection Agency and Uisce Éireann guidance documents. Preparation of Wastewater Discharge Licence Annual Environmental Reports. Coordination and completion of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports, Appropriate Assessment Screening Reports, Natura Impact Statements, and other environmental and planning reports. Provide technical environmental input to projects, including data collection and analysis. Provide environmental and licensing advice to our in-house engineers and clients. Engage with clients and external stakeholders. Coordination of projects day-to-day, including fee proposal, invoicing, and delivering on client expectations and preparation and review/sign off of documents. Coordination of in-house teams, sub-consultants, and sub-contractors contributing to our projects. Assist in the preparation of tender submissions and fee proposals. Contribute to the development of the Team’s competence and professional standards. Assist in developing and consolidating client relationships and networks and keep up-to-date with developments and innovations within the environmental sectors. Oversee, guide, and manage junior team members. Perform other such duties as may be reasonably required. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required: A postgraduate degree in environmental science, environmental engineering or related discipline. Professional membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., IEMA, CIEEM, CIWEM) is desirable. Excellent technical knowledge and a proven track record of the management and preparation of Wastewater Discharge Authorisation is highly desirable. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the areas of Environmental Impact Assessment and Appropriate Assessment. Excellent organisational and coordinating skills. Strong collaborative working skills. Excellent report writing skills. Excellent communication skills. Excellent attention to detail. Excellent ability to interrogate data from various sources to ensure it is fit for purpose. Excellent knowledge of environmental legislation and regulations. Be self-motivated, pragmatic and solution driven. Have a proven ability to meet strict deadlines. Have a proven ability to coordinate and manage teams effectively and efficiently under pressure. Have a flexible approach with a willingness to actively participate as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
