An exciting opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of a nationally significant fabrication project. This role is perfect for a detail-driven Project Planner with a background in fabrication or heavy engineering, who thrives in complex environments and enjoys solving real-world scheduling challenges.
You’ll work as part of a collaborative and highly experienced project team, contributing to the success of a major construction and fabrication effort, where schedule recovery and coordination across multiple departments is critical.
The Role

Develop, maintain and update detailed project plans for large-scale fabrication projects
*
Adjust plans dynamically to reflect real-time changes, risks or delays, including weather-related impacts
*
Coordinate progress updates and reporting across engineering, project management, and operational teams
*
Use planning software (e.g. Primavera P6, MS Project) to manage critical path schedules, labour forecasts, and milestone tracking
*
Provide clear reporting on slippage, float erosion, resource constraints, and scheduling risks or opportunities
*
Translate specifications and estimator breakdowns into detailed, practical schedules with realistic labour and material forecasting
What You’ll Need
*
Proven experience in planning within heavy fabrication, construction, marine, or structural steel environments
*
Strong understanding of fabrication methods including welding, assembly, machining etc.
*
Ability to work flexibly and responsively to manage complex project variables
*
Proficiency in Microsoft Project (Primavera experience advantageous)
*
Skilled in critical path analysis and resource loading
*
Able to read engineering drawings and technical breakdowns
*
Confident communicator with the ability to liaise across departments and external stakeholders
