Job Overview
Extrusion Manufacturing Operative / PVC Machine Operator and Setter with proven track record in a similar role, along with processing experience and knowledge of fault rectification within PVC Extrusion, is required for a leading manufacturer based in Hyde, Tameside, Greater Manchester, North West England.
LOCATION: Hyde, Tameside, Greater Manchester, North West England | SALARY: Competitive + Benefits (see below) | JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent | WORKING HOURS: 36 Hours per Week, Monday to Thursday 21:00 – 06:00 (30 Minutes Paid Lunch Break)
Duties
* Setting and operating extrusion machines to produce a range of plastic profiles
* Performing continuous inspection and testing of products to ensure they meet high-quality standards, monitoring machine settings, material processing techniques, and packaging
* Using fault-finding skills to resolve machine and material issues, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime; conduct regular checks on ancillary equipment, such as water heaters and cooling systems
* Accurately identifying and handling different material types and colours, monitoring raw material levels, and correctly processing stock movement data
* Adhering to all company health and safety standards, including the use of safety guards, emergency stops, and proper equipment handling; maintain a clean and tidy workspace
* Interpreting tool lists for correct identification and compatibility, recording machine setup data, and carrying out minor tool maintenance and cleaning
* Safely handling and transporting raw materials, finished goods, and extrusion tools, including lifting of up to 25kg bags
