Are you a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer with a proven track record in both the Nuclear and Oil & Gas sectors? Are you Chartered with either the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE)? We're seeking a talented freelance professional to join our team on a project basis, contributing your expertise to complex and critical infrastructure projects.\n\nAs a freelance Senior Structural Engineer, you'll be responsible for:\n\nLeading the structural design and analysis of various components and systems within nuclear facilities and oil & gas installations.\nConducting detailed calculations, simulations, and assessments to ensure structural integrity, safety, and compliance with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., Eurocodes, API, ASME, AISC).\nDeveloping and reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.\nCollaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, including civil, mechanical, and process engineers, to integrate structural designs seamlessly into larger projects.\nProviding technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers as needed, leveraging your chartered expertise.\nParticipating in design reviews, hazard identification, and risk assessment processes.\nTroubleshooting and resolving complex structural challenges.What we're looking for:\n\nA strong portfolio of experience demonstrating significant contributions to projects in both the Nuclear and Oil & Gas sectors.
Please highlight specific project types (e.g., power plants, offshore platforms, refineries, pipelines).\nChartered Engineer (CEng) status with either the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) is essential.\nExtensive experience with structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, Abaqus, ANSYS).\nIn-depth knowledge of structural design principles, materials, and construction methods relevant to these industries.\nFamiliarity with regulatory requirements and industry best practices in the UK and internationally.\nExcellent problem-solving skills and a meticulous attention to detail.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate remotely and present technical information clearly. \nA Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. \n\nRandstad CPE values diversity and promotes equality.
