About the role
The successful candidate will join the global infrastructure support team. Working with end users, application teams and engineering teams, you will be key in supporting the growing Linux on-prem estate in order to meet complex and evolving business requirements. As well as day-to-day support, the role will include project-based activities such as new deployments, general administration tasks and upgrades. You’ll also work closely with engineering teams to enhance platform automation and monitoring initiatives.
1. A key member of the infrastructure support team working with high-performance Linux-based trading & research platforms
2. Building, administering, upgrading and supporting the Linux estate
3. Contribute to monitoring and automation initiatives
4. Work with engineering teams to document and improve process
5. Some out of hours work will be required as well as participation in an on-call rota (typically performed remotely)
6. Experience of python, bash scripting an advantage
To be successful, you will have
7. Hands-on experience working with Linux-based platforms Excellent Linux administration skills essentialKnowledge of RedHat, Centos
8. Experience of complete end-to-end server deployments
9. Working knowledge of AMD / Intel server hardware and physical components
10. A drive to get to the bottom of issues and perform a full root-cause analysis
11. Good problem-solving, communication and analytical skills
12. Excited about technology and a willingness to learn more

14. Working knowledge of server network stack, network protocols (e.g. TCP, UDP), LAN and WAN technologies
15. Some experience of the use of automation technologies (e.g. Ansible) an advantage
