A growing multi-disciplinary construction consultancy is looking to strengthen its Health & Safety and Building Safety team with the appointment of an experienced Principal Designer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the advisory side of construction and wants to work across a genuinely diverse project portfolio spanning commercial, healthcare, education, defence, residential and public sector developments. The business has seen consistent growth over recent years and continues to invest heavily in its compliance and Building Safety offering, creating an opportunity for an ambitious Principal Designer to play a key role within an established and highly respected consultancy environment.ResponsibilitiesActing as Principal Designer under CDM Regulations 2015Supporting clients through Building Regulations and Building Safety Act requirementsProducing and reviewing Pre‑Construction Information, Design Risk Registers and Health & Safety documentationLeading design risk workshops and chairing design team meetingsAdvising clients, designers and contractors on their statutory duties and project obligationsCarrying out site inspections and compliance auditsReviewing RAMS and providing practical risk management adviceMonitoring design risk management throughout the project lifecyclePreparing clear and concise reports for clients and project stakeholdersSupporting Gateway submissions and Building Regulations compliance processes where requiredAbout YouWe’re keen to speak with individuals who have a strong understanding of CDM legislation and are looking to develop their career within a consultancy that genuinely values technical excellence and professional development.Experience operating as a Principal Designer, CDM Consultant or CDM AdvisorStrong working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015Good understanding of Building Regulations and the Building Safety Act 2022MaPS accreditation or a desire to work towards itAPS membership or similar professional affiliationStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsConfidence to advise clients and project teams on complex compliance mattersExperience across multiple construction sectors would be advantageousFull UK Driving LicenceCalibre Search promotes equality in the workplace and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified candidates regardless of their sex, race, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age.
