Landscape Architect’s Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and present landscape design concepts based on client briefs, including master plans, planting plans, mood boards, and material palettes. Prepare and translate conceptual landscape designs into detailed technical drawings such as site layout plans, grading plans, planting layouts, irrigation, drainage, and lighting plans. Liaise directly with clients to understand project requirements, manage expectations, and obtain approvals on landscape designs, materials, and planting selections. Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, procurement teams, site managers, contractors, nurseries, and specialist vendors to ensure smooth sourcing and project execution within budget. Monitor on-site landscape implementation to ensure work aligns with approved drawings and specifications while providing guidance to landscape contractors and site teams. The following skills and experience are relevant to the role: Strong knowledge of landscape design principles, site planning, planting design, and sustainable landscape practices. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Photoshop. Ability to prepare detailed planting plans, hardscape layouts, irrigation drawings, and landscape construction details. Good knowledge of plant species, soil conditions, irrigation systems, and outdoor material specifications. Strong freehand sketching and visualization skills to communicate landscape concepts effectively.
