About the Job
We are looking for a Security Operations Analyst (SOC 24x7) to join the United Nations International Computing Centre (UNICC)—the UN’s central provider of digital and cybersecurity services. You will be part of a global Security Operations Centre (CSOC) that operates 24x7, monitoring and responding to cyber threats targeting UN agencies and partner organizations.
The position can be based in Valencia, Spain (preferred) or remotely within the CET timezone.
Responsibilities
* Monitor and investigate security alerts using Microsoft Security tools (M365, Cloud App Security, Azure, Defender for Endpoint, Azure Sentinel, XDR).
* Monitor and triage AWS security events and detections.
* Review and analyze events from SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight, MS Sentinel, ELK Stack).
* Investigate incidents leveraging EDR and NDR solutions, identify root causes, and apply remediation measures.
* Analyze network and host‑based logs (firewalls, NIDS, HIDS, syslogs, etc.) to ensure timely and effective responses.
* Support incident response and recovery efforts in coordination with global teams.
* Collaborate with other analysts and teams to share intelligence and strengthen detection capabilities.
* Produce reports and documentation on incidents and recommendations.
What We Are Looking For
* 5+ years of experience in IT or cybersecurity, including SOC operations.
* Strong understanding of TCP/IP, network protocols, and threat monitoring.
* Expertise in Microsoft Security tools and cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP).
* Experience with SIEM and EDR solutions such as Splunk, Defender, SentinelOne, CrowdStrike.
* Proficiency in Windows, Linux, and MacOS environments.
* Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
