PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £28,100 - £38,100 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As the BBC’s formal learning website, Bitesize helps millions of students to progress their education. Researchers are integral to the success of the teams delivering content. You will work closely with Bitesize Producers and Assistant Producers, focusing on the future of personalised learning, creating curriculum aligned questions, digital interactions, and innovative content across the web, app and email newsletters.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
* You will play a key role in developing the Bitesize audience experience for students, parents and teachers – writing, curating and promoting content.
* You will create, edit and publish targeted newsletters and personalised notifications for web and app audiences.
* You will optimise, develop and write content for search and for other external platforms increasing the reach of BBC Education content.
* You will work with educational consultants and writers to ensure curriculum alignment for existing and new content.
* You will explore new interactive formats, features and mini games to expand the Bitesize audience and engage new users.
Essential Criteria
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Newsletter content: Experience of developing and writing targeted newsletters
* Search engine optimisation: Knowledge and understanding of SEO in order to optimise content for digital platforms.
* Digital content: Skilled in writing for diverse digital formats, from short-form app notifications to long-form articles, covering different audience expectations and needs.
* Audience insight and engagement: Proven experience working to targets to drive audience growth, using audience data to assess, present and inform strategic decision making. Strong understanding of the Bitesize audience and the digital education landscape, including the needs and media habits of 5–16 year olds, alongside an appreciation of curriculum learning outcomes and editorial standards.
* Relationship management: Experience of working with suppliers, consultants and writers to commission and review content with an educational focus
