Main duties of the job
In this pivotal role, you will provide visible, inspiring leadership, ensure the highest standards of quality, safety and dignity, and help shape the future of palliative and end of life care across our services. You'll work collaboratively within our Senior Leadership Team, championing personalised care and empowering skilled clinical teams to deliver what matters most to patients and families.
You will be professionally credible, an inclusive leader who listens deeply, leads thoughtfully and acts with integrity.

* Registered Nurse with active NMC registration
* Educated to masters level (or equivalent experience) in nursing, healthcare leadership, palliative care, or related field
* Evidence of continuous professional development relevant to senior clinical leadership
Desirable
* Qualification(s) in palliative or end of life care
* Leadership or management qualification(s)
* Training in quality improvement methodologies, patient safety or clinical governance
Experience
Essential
* Significant experience at senior leadership level within healthcare, ideally including palliative, hospice or community services
* Proven track record of leading clinical teams and managing complex services
* Extensive experience of clinical governance, risk management and regulatory compliance (e.g., CQC)
* Experience of developing and improving clinical services through evidence, data and collaboration
* Experience of working within multiprofessional teams and influencing across organisational boundaries
* Experience of workforce planning, safe staffing and leading large or diverse clinical teams
* Experience of leading people through change
* Experience of managing clinical budgets and working with finance teams
* Direct experience in handling incidents, complaints, investigations and learning reviews with transparency and integrity

* Experience working with commissioners, ICBs, hospices, charities and/or voluntary sector organisations
