About the Role
Further to recent organisational growth, we have an exciting opportunity for Self‑Employed General Practitioners to join our forward‑thinking team in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. Whether you are looking to supplement your existing commitments or prefer the structure of evening, overnight, or weekend work, we offer a range of shift patterns to suit your availability.
As an Independent, autonomous Clinician, you will support our mission to deliver high-quality, patient‑centred services. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe and timely care through our Integrated Urgent Care Service. Shift opportunities include:
* Face‑to‑face shifts based at one of our Primary Care Centres across the Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin locality
* Mobile shifts undertaking home visits to patients who are unable to travel to a primary care centre, supported with a full‑equipped medical car
* Triage shifts based at our regional Head Office
Our Sessional GPs are able to work flexibly at each base covering all aspects of our Urgent Care service, inclusive of telephone triage, face‑to‑face patient appointments and attending patient home visits.
We operate an appointment‑only system managed centrally by our dedicated team of Coordinators.
Responsibilities
* Work as an autonomous practitioner providing clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adult and paediatric patients invited to attend our Primary Care Centres or during remote consultations
* Accurately triage and prioritise all patients
* Undertake home visits to patients who are unable to travel, supported with a fully‑equipped medical car and driver
* Refer patients to alternative care settings when appropriate
* Support the Care Coordination Centre Single Point of Access
* Support triage of calls via the NHS111 pathway or the dedicated Healthcare Professional line
* Receive support from a senior clinician during shifts
Qualifications
* Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
* Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List
* Inclusion on the All Wales Medical Performers List (or willingness to apply if not already included)
* Up‑to‑date indemnity including cover for Urgent Unscheduled Care
* Experience in urgent or Out of Hours settings (preferred)
* Proficiency with Adastra (preferred)
* A calm, methodical approach to clinical decision‑making
* The ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
* A commitment to maintaining high standards of clinical governance and patient care
