About the Role As our Payroll Manager, you will take full responsibility for managing the end‑to‑end payroll process for our growing workforce. You will work closely with HR, Finance, and Operations to ensure compliance, accuracy, and a smooth payroll experience for all employees. Key Responsibilities • Manage the full monthly payroll cycle for all staff across multiple locations. • Ensure accuracy of timesheets, hours, mileage, and allowances. • Maintain payroll systems and employee records in line with legislation and company policy. • Process starters, leavers, contract changes, and statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, etc.). • Produce payroll reports for senior management and finance teams. • Liaise with HMRC and ensure compliance with PAYE, NI, pensions, and auto‑enrolment. • Respond to payroll queries promptly and professionally. • Support continuous improvement of payroll processes and systems. About You We’re looking for someone who is confident, organised, and experienced in payroll management—ideally within a fast‑paced or multi‑site environment. Essential Skills & Experience • Proven experience managing end‑to‑end payroll. • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements. • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. • Confident using payroll software and Microsoft Office. • Ability to work to deadlines and manage competing priorities. • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills. Desirable • Experience within the care sector or a similar high‑volume workforce. • Knowledge of mileage‑based payroll or rota‑driven environments.
