Main duties of the job
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sexual Health and Contraception Nurse to join our team. You will deliver safe, client‑centered sexual and reproductive healthcare, ensuring excellence in both clinical practice and patient experience. You’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing contraception, STI testing and treatment, sexual health advice, and health promotion.
* First‑level Registered Nurse or Midwife with NMC Registration
* Recognised contraception qualification (DFSRH / ENB 901 or equivalent academic accreditation)
* Completion of the Sexually Transmitted Infection Foundation Integrated Course, or equivalent academic course, or willingness to work towards this competence
* Competent in removal and insertion of subdermal implants and holding the Letter of Competence in Subdermal Implants, or completion of SDI training within 6 months of commencing post
* Strong communication skills to work with a diverse client group, including those with complex needs such as disability or communication difficulties
* Experience in contraception and sexual health work with specialist knowledge
* Ability to work autonomously, undertake holistic assessments and complete care episodes within guidelines
* Experience of working within patient group directions
Working Hours and Contract
* Hours: Part‑time 15 hours per week (evenings and weekends included)
* Contract: Permanent
* Location: Brook Manchester
* Upon completing probationary period, eligible for 4 Day Week programme, allowing 20% fewer hours without salary decrease
