Job Description
Our Employment team is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and bright candidate for a 12-month fixed-term contract as maternity cover. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a broad range of clients, including local, national, and international. Given the team structure, there will be real opportunities for progression over time.
Experience/Attributes required
* Broad understanding of legal principles involved and experience of assisting, with a desire to become an expert in this challenging field.
* Excellent drafting skills, legal analysis, verbal & written communication skills, and employment law knowledge.
* Ability and willingness to engage in marketing and business development activities.
* Ability to apply the law with commercial awareness and provide viewpoints to clients.
* Experience in training seminars and workshop programmes for employers is advantageous.
Work type:
* HR support for employer clients on a day-to-day basis.
* Guiding clients through disciplinary and internal proceedings.
* Handling TUPE issues in transactional work, including due diligence and outsourcing.
* Employment termination, settlement agreements, taxation implications, and avoidance strategies.
* Advocacy before employment tribunals and courts.
* Litigation involving unfair and wrongful dismissal claims, as well as sex, race, and disability discrimination claims.
* Conducting training seminars and workshops for employer clients.
* Potential to gain experience in immigration and data protection issues.
