Hours: 37 hours per week, 8:30 am – 16:30 pm Monday to Thursday, 8:30 am – 16:00 pm Friday, 52 weeks per year.

Salary: £45,267 to £48,665 – Points 27 to 30 of the Support Staff Pay Scale
Pension: West Yorkshire Pension Fund, plus Death in Service Grant of 3 × your annual salary

Role Overview
This senior technical and operational role within the Digital Services team involves leading the design, management and continuous improvement of the College’s IT infrastructure, systems and digital services. You will combine strategic oversight with hands‑on technical expertise to ensure robust, compliant and future‑focused networks, systems and cyber‑security, while providing an outstanding customer‑focused service.
You will line‑manage a team of IT, Network & Systems Engineers and Developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and professional growth.
Responsibilities
Key duties include:
* Shape and deliver the College’s digital strategy, infrastructure, systems support and cyber-security provision.
* Lead the design, management and continuous improvement of IT infrastructure, systems and digital services.
* Maintain network, server and infrastructure robustness and compliance.
* Ensure cyber‑security arrangements meet regulatory standards.
* Manage and develop a technical team, providing guidance, coaching and performance management.
* Communicate technical concepts clearly to staff and students.
* Promote safeguarding, diversity and inclusion in all IT practices.
Qualifications
* A degree (or equivalent) in ICT, Computer Science or a related discipline.
* Advanced SQL skills and experience managing complex data systems.
* Knowledge of cyber‑security principles and compliance.
* Experience managing networks, servers and infrastructure.
* Experience leading and developing technical teams.
* Excellent communication skills.
* A commitment to safeguarding, diversity and inclusion.
Professional certifications (e.g. Security+, CISSP, CCNA, Microsoft, ITIL or PRINCE2) and experience in educational MIS systems, particularly Cedar/Unit E, are desirable.
