Finance Controller - Process & Control Improvement

Function: Finance

Location: Edinburgh (St Andrew Square) or London (nr Oxford St) based – a mix of office & home working

Salary: £58,500 - £69,500 base depending on experience, plus full benefits listed below.

Contract: Permanent

Closing Date: 22nd of August 2025. Please note, we may close vacancies early where we receive significant numbers of applications.

About the role

As the Process & Control Improvement (P&CI) Finance Controller, you’ll be responsible for leading the transformation of the HEINEKEN UK Governance and Internal Control Framework, supporting the core deliverables of the team and keeping an eye on emerging areas of focus.

You’ll support the journey to a better-connected Finance function through continuous improvement across our business processes, focussing on elimination, standardisation and simplification where possible.

This is a finance leadership role with a fair amount of autonomy. You’ll gain exposure to varied stakeholders and manage change in a fast-moving environment. Financial leadership skills and operational knowledge gained will be beneficial when moving into other HUK senior finance roles.

So, what will you be doing? Here are some key accountabilities;

* Planning and performing end to end process reviews which provide key business stakeholders with recommendations that support efficient, sustainable and repeatable processes
* Pro-actively participate and drive business focused project work when required to ensure continuous improvement of all processes through the use of systems and network of internal & external contacts.
* Develop and drive the Heineken UK Process & Control Improvement agenda, within both the Finance function and wider business.
* Bring risk based expertise to all activities, ensuring that robust and practical solutions are designed to support process and business optimisation.
* Ensure that the broad range of P&CI deliverables are delivered on time, to the required quality standard and support a clean sign-off by External Audit.

About the Candidate

We’re looking for a commercially aware Qualified Accountant with well-developed experience within an audit or risk management function. You’ll have a strong track record of identifying process and control improvement opportunities and influencing stakeholders to ensure these are embedded into the business.

If you have;

* Previous experience applying audit/risk disciplines in a commercial environment.
* Large-scale change and transformation management experience, preferably including change to an ERP landscape.
* Strong business partnering skills.
* Experience in driving effective change management across and organisation.
* The desire to lead and coach team members, elevating the profile of the P&CI team across the business.

Then this could be the role for you!

Our Ways of Working

Our office sites operate a hybrid model. You’ll spend Tuesdays, Thursdays and one other day of your choice in the office and can work from home on the other two days, although but you’re more than welcome to come and work from the office on those days too.

Our benefits and rewards

* 15% Benefits allowance
* Annual bonus
* Company-funded Private Medical Healthcare
* Double-matched pension (up to 10%)
* 35 days holiday (holiday trading available)
* A monthly case of our delicious ciders and beers (low and no alcohol options available)
* Unique learning and development opportunities

…And much more! Check out our Why Join Us page if you’d like more information.

You’ll also get the opportunity to join our colleague networks, in which people from across the business connect to help champion diversity, equity and inclusion, ensuring we’re continuing to give people a voice.

The application

If you like what you’ve read and are ready to brew a better career with us, let’s get going! We may close vacancies early where we receive lots of applications, so don’t delay!

If you need any adjustments made to support your application, for example if you require information in different formats, or if you have any accessibility issues, then we’re more than happy to review our processes – please feel free to get in touch with us at recruitment@heineken.co.uk.

You might feel that you don’t meet every single requirement for this role, and that’s okay – we all need the opportunity to develop and untap our full potential. If this advert’s piqued your interest, we’d encourage you to submit an application rather than ruling yourself out. You never know – you may be exactly what we’re looking for!

Who we are

We’re the world’s most international brewer and the name behind a host of brilliant beers and ciders, from Birra Moretti, to Strongbow, to Cruzcampo and many more.

It’s a fantastic time to join us. We’re leading the way in low and no alcohol innovation, pioneering new technologies to meet our ambitious environmental goals and investing in our pubs to keep them at the centre of their communities.

When you join us, we’ll back you to reach your full potential. You’ll enjoy unique development opportunities, unforgettable experiences and a reward package that goes far beyond the salary you receive.
