Overview
We are looking for a senior manager who is solutions-focused, skilled at building relationships, enjoys being at the heart of change, and who wants to be part of a cohesive, vibrant and growing team. The role requires a practical, thorough and positive approach to problem solving, attention to detail, and the ability to cope with pressure. You must be confident liaising with individuals at all levels throughout the firm, enjoy acquiring new knowledge and be able to deliver difficult messages when needed. Previous high-level knowledge of independence or conflict rules is preferred but not required; full training will be provided.
PwC's ambition to grow through acquisitions and development of new innovative ways to serve clients, mandatory firm rotation, regulatory change, and globalisation create a critical need for maintaining Independence from audit clients. The Independence team plays a vital role in enabling PwC's growth while protecting our reputation and brand, and will be at the heart of change in the firm over the coming years.
What Your Days Will Look Like
The role sits within the Independence team and aligns with PwC's strategic priorities. The team focuses on safeguarding independence in a dynamic regulatory environment and supporting firm growth.
Your Role Will Include But Is Not Limited To
* Providing advice and guidance regarding queries submitted by the practice, including initial interpretation of the firm’s independence rules against specific facts and development of initial advice on matters under review.
* Investigation of Independence breaches and communication with the practice.
* Reviewing SEC engagement letters to ensure independence compliance.
* Input into core Independence processes within the Non-audit Services team, supporting operational activities.
* Other ad-hoc projects as required, including general support to other independence activities.
* Building a network of partners and staff across the firm and PwC network, providing guidance on complex issues.
* Being part of a solutions-focused, cohesive team and developing a solid technical base and understanding of the independence rules underpinning the firm’s work.
This Role Is For You If
* Must possess a Finance qualification (e.g. ACCA, ACA, CIMA or international equivalent) or have equivalent work experience. This includes international candidates qualifying through experience in their home country.
* Understanding of commercial/client-facing issues and empathy with client-facing practitioners supported by the Independence team.
* Strong analytical, organisational, project management skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills with confidence to interact at all levels and manage internal relationships with key stakeholders.
* Ability to adapt to others' demands, provide support, influence, and adjust behaviour as necessary.
* Conscientious, ambitious team player with good self-management and initiative.
