Procurement Officer A leading provider of Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) maintenance across the UK is looking for a Procurement Officer. Package & Benefits Location: Blantyre Salary: £35k - £40k per annum Hours: 40 hours per week Company Benefits Pension scheme 360 Wellbeing Essential duties & responsibilities To ensure the efficient, effective and systematic procurement of goods and services, delivering best value. Effective monitoring of procurement contracts. Development of transparent tendering processes and schedules. Development of best practice in procurement. Create, issue and track purchase orders to ensure all goods and services are delivered on time. Manage supply chain partner relations to ensure long term consistency. Generate timeous, highly accurate reports to internal stakeholders on category spend. Support internal stakeholders with procurement strategies. Work with internal stakeholders to ensure the companies strategies have the same synergies as those of the Group. Analyse current contractual agreements/provisions and develop strategies to ensure conformance of non-compliant supply chain partners. Advise of new or emerging ideas and or processes which may have a positive role in developing the relationship between procurement and all other areas of the business. Development of systems and reporting automations working in conjunction with the companies internal Work Hub Team. Skills & Qualifications Required Knowledge & Understanding Minimum 5 - 10 years' experience in procurement/supply chain management, preferably in a similar engineering environment. Highly numerate, strong organisational skills and excellent time management skills. Strong understanding of procurement/contractual law both UK & EU based, inclusive of the social value element of contract procurement. Ability to undertake category relevant research/analysis and draw the required conclusions. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Highly developed skills/knowledge with Microsoft Office work packages, especially Excel & Word. Experience of PowerQuery/Power BI advantageous but not essential. Highly analytical with keen eye for detail. Excellent team player but also able to work under own initiative.
