Role: Lecturer – Graphics and Photography
Location: Central Bedfordshire College – Dunstable Kingsway Campus
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £31,930 and £36,878 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave (Pro-Rata) plus Bank holidays, Teacher's pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses. Note – Salary and Annual Leave is for that of a Qualified Lecturer.
Hours/Weeks: 29.6 hours (0.8 FTE) per week, 52 weeks per year

About the role:
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Graphics and Photography to join our Creative Arts department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
* Teaching & Curriculum Delivery – Deliver engaging, inclusive lessons across UAL Level 3 and HNC/HND programmes in Photography and Graphics, using industry-standard tools and practices.
* Student Support & Progression – Act as a course tutor, monitor progress via ProMonitor, support UCAS applications, and prepare students for HE or employment through portfolio development and enrichment.
* Curriculum Development & Quality – Plan and deliver creative project briefs, contribute to curriculum enhancement, and embed employability, enterprise, and digital skills into teaching.
* Professional Engagement & Collaboration – Build links with employers, universities, and practitioners; participate in staff meetings, training, and college-wide events to support student development.
* Statutory Responsibilities – Uphold safeguarding, equality, health & safety standards, and engage in continuous professional development in line with TBCG policies and procedures.
About you:
* Qualifications & Subject Expertise – Holds a degree (or equivalent) in Photography, Graphics, or a related creative subject, with a teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one.
* Teaching Experience & Curriculum Knowledge – Experienced in teaching Level 3 or above in FE/HE, with strong understanding of UAL and Pearson awarding body standards and creative project delivery.
* Technical & Creative Skills – Proficient in digital and analogue photography, studio lighting, and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign), with ability to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons.
* Student Support & Progression – Skilled in supporting learner achievement, portfolio development, and progression to higher education or employment, with strong organisational and communication abilities.
* Professionalism & Commitment – Committed to safeguarding, equality, and continuous professional development; flexible in working hours and dedicated to contributing to college events and employer engagement.
