* Monitor and order cleaning supplies in line with allocated budgets, and carry out regular stock checks.
Team Leadership & Management:
* As part of our client’s management team, lead by example and support a positive working culture.
* Create housekeeping rotas, approve leave, and ensure the home is always appropriately staffed.
* Conduct supervisions, observations, and mentor staff to improve performance and morale.
* Support the Home Manager with recruitment and training of new team members.
Communication:
* Foster strong communication within the housekeeping team and wider care home staff.
* Take part in daily handovers, staff meetings, and the Supervision Process.
* Uphold professionalism at all times, including when answering the phone or greeting visitors.
Training & Development:
* Ensure your team maintains up-to-date training in key areas such as COSHH and Manual Handling.
* Liaise with the Training Manager to support continuous development.
* Commit to your own learning and growth within the role.
Health & Safety:
* Promote and maintain a safe working environment in line with Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, and COSHH standards.
* Report any safety hazards or faulty equipment promptly to the Home Manager.
* Ensure safe storage and use of cleaning products, with all necessary documentation in place.
General:
* Support our client’s positive reputation in the local community through high standards and professionalism.
* Maintain security, confidentiality, and the smooth day-to-day running of the home.
* Be flexible and proactive in supporting the overall needs of the service.
About You:
* Previous experience in a Head Housekeeper or supervisory role, ideally within a care home or healthcare setting.
* Strong knowledge of cleaning and infection control standards, with COSHH awareness.
* A confident leader with excellent organisational and communication skills.
* High attention to detail and a passion for maintaining a clean, homely environment.
* Flexible, reliable, and able to manage priorities and delegate tasks effectively.
