Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and inclusive school community in North London. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who have a range of SEN and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, helping them achieve both academically and personally.
About the Role
* Support pupils with a range of learning and emotional needs, both 1:1 and in small groups.
* Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that promote inclusion and progress.
* Build trusting, positive relationships with pupils, helping them develop confidence, independence, and resilience.
* Implement individual learning and behaviour support plans.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure each child receives the best possible support.
* Promote a calm, nurturing, and safe classroom environment.
About You
* Passionate about supporting children with SEN and SEMH needs.
* Patient, empathetic, and resilient when faced with challenges.
* Ideally experienced in an SEN, SEMH, or alternative provision setting (though training can be provided).
* A strong communicator and team player, able to work effectively with staff and pupils alike.
* Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent) and/or experience working with SEN pupils are desirable but not essential.
