As we enter our 80th year and an exciting period of growth, we are seeking a dynamic and motivated Development Officer (DO) to play a key role within the Audience & Business Growth department.
The Development Officer provides essential administrative and coordination support across all fundraising activity, working closely with supporters including Patrons, individual donors, corporate partners, and Trusts and Foundations. The role is responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of fundraising initiatives, including financial tracking, CRM management, donor and prospect research, and supporter communications.
The DO also supports the planning and delivery of philanthropic events, overseeing logistics for both internal and external engagements, and maintains regular communication with supporters through newsletters, invitations, and digital platforms.
The successful candidate will have experience working within a high-performing fundraising team and will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive. They will be a confident and skilled writer, capable of producing high-quality written material and research briefs to tight deadlines.
Job Requirements
* Degree or equivalent qualification, ideally in an arts-related subject
* Experience in a fundraising or development role, preferably within the arts or cultural sector
* Experience using e-communications platforms and digital supporter engagement tools
* Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and confidence working with varied stakeholders
* Proficiency using fundraising or CRM systems, ideally Spektrix or Tessitura
* High attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure
* Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
* Good understanding of GDPR, fundraising compliance and Gift Aid processes
* Genuine interest in the arts and creative sectors
Job Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day fundraising administration, supporting the Development team across Patrons, individual supporters, corporate partners, and Trusts and Foundations
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor and prospect records on Spektrix, including interactions, events, donations, renewals, reports, and donor lists
* Carry out prospect and donor research to support strong and sustainable fundraising pipeline
* Oversee Gift Aid administration, ensuring accurate processing, timely HMRC submissions, compliance, and support for Finance and audits
* Coordinate Patron and supporter events in collaboration with the Senior Development Manager and Development team
* Draft monthly Patrons' e-newsletters and create invitations for Development-related events
* Maintain and update Development content across the ICA website
* Ensure accurate and consistent donor recognition across all ICA platforms
* Support the production of fundraising reports, including the annual Patrons' Impact Report
