Role responsibilities
The Supply Chain Manager will contribute to and drive forward the implementation of the supply chain vision, advising and supporting the business on strategies and initiatives that deliver value from Transport for Wales (TfW) supply chain relationships and contracts.
1. Contribute to shaping and implementing TfW's Supply Chain Management (SCM) strategy and vision into deliverables aligned with TfW's strategic priorities.
2. Implement supply chain initiatives and activities to encourage high performance and continuous development within the SCM team and across the organization.
3. Identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency by overseeing the supply chain and staying updated on industry best practices and legislation to ensure a compliant and best-in-class supply chain management provision.
4. Support and drive initiatives that extract value from supply chain relationships and contracts, delivering savings and benefits supporting TfW's strategic objectives.
5. Develop and promote responsible procurement governance in line with the Social Partnership and Procurement (Wales) Act, including social value measures, collaborating with stakeholders to embed these in contractual obligations and performance measures.
Who we're looking for
* Experience working in a complex supply chain environment.
* Experience in identifying and managing risks within the supply chain.
* Knowledge of sustainable and social value approaches to develop a diverse supply chain.
* Previous experience in governance and assurance of the supply chain.
* Welsh Language Skills: Ability to speak/write Welsh is a plus but not essential. We support and encourage the development of Welsh language skills through various training and courses.
