Main purpose of the job
This is a fixed term post based in the Collection Strategy team undertaking checking and moving of library material as part of a project relating to the compacting to save shelf space at Client's Library Services, client Store.
Duties and responsibilities
* To handle and move library material to newly assigned locations within the warehouse.
* To undertake title-by-title matching of spreadsheet lists of library material and identify physical items in the library store from spreadsheet lists.
* To measure and record full and empty shelving space.
* To update Excel (print) spreadsheets with relevant information (e.g. space and material measurements)
* To keep accurate records of items requiring further attention
* To keep project managers informed of progress
* You will be undertaking checking and moving library material as part of a project relating to compacting the shelves to save space at Client's Store. As a Store Assistant, you will be handling and moving library materials to newly assigned locations. You will be undertaking title-by-title searching and matching spreadsheet lists of library material and identifying physical items in the library store from spreadsheet lists provided. It is crucial that you pay attention to the details and keep accurate records as you will update (print) spreadsheets with relevant information (e.g. space, location and material measurements).
