Title: Early Years Instructor
Reporting to: Camp Manager
Contract: Seasonal work in school holidays
Hours: 8.30am– 5.30pm weekdays. Full season or part season roles available. Additional hours for staff with a paediatric first aid qualification (usually 8am– 6pm)
Summary of Position
The Early Years Instructor ensures the welfare and safety of children on camp, delivering engaging sports, art, and play activities to the Early Years children, known as Ultimate Activity Juniors. Activities follow EYFS requirements, emphasizing participation and quality.
Supported by the Early Years Leader, you will have a pastoral role, acting as a key contact for 4 and 5-year-olds, maintaining their welfare, and providing high-quality care.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Prepare and deliver activities for the Ultimate Activity Juniors (aged 4-5), focusing on participation, development, and enjoyment.
* Promote welfare and adhere to all camp policies and procedures.
* Attend a Camp Induction Day to help set up the Ultimate Activity Juniors provision.
* Take a pastoral role as a group leader, welcoming children and liaising with the EY Leader and/or parents.
* Supervise and engage with children outside activity times.
* Adapt activities to meet individual needs of children from diverse backgrounds and developmental stages.
* Uphold the camp's promise of ‘Inspiring Children Every Day’ and behave professionally throughout employment.
Personal Qualities and Requirements
* Enthusiastic, energetic, passionate about working with children through play and activities.
* Experience working with 4-5-year-olds in sports, art, or education settings.
* Confident instructor, adaptable to different ages and abilities.
* Good organizational and communication skills.
* Flexible team player, capable of handling dynamic situations.
* Seeking a rewarding, fun holiday job with potential career development in childcare.
* Experience delivering the EYFS to Early Years children.
* Level 2 childcare or Early Years qualification or working towards a related degree.
* Paediatric First Aid (12-hour or 6-hour) or First Aid at Work qualification.
