Ensemble Conductor - Training Choir, Hampshire County Council role at Guardian Jobs
Hampshire Music Service is seeking a talented conductor to lead the Hampshire County Training Choir (HCTC), working within our vibrant ensemble pyramid. The Training Choir comprises singers aged 11 to 14 (unchanged voices) and is part of the Hampshire County Youth Choirs (HCYC). The HCYC is made up of five choirs with singers aged 6 to 19, performing in venues such as The Anvil (Basingstoke), Winchester Cathedral, and the Royal Albert Hall (London). The choir also participates in residentials and collaborates with professional performance groups and conductors. The Training Choir has recently worked on pieces by Sarah Quartell, Circlesong (Bob Chilcott), Wassail (Alexander L’Estrange), Build a Bridge (Stuart Overington), and Hymn to the Fallen (John Williams). It collaborates with Barton Peveril College and will learn Vivaldi’s Gloria and perform at Romsey Abbey in the Autumn Term.
Interviews will include a practical session with the groups and a formal interview on the evening of Friday 26 September during HCYC’s usual rehearsal time.
