Temporary role: 12 weeks in the first instance, with possible extension
Day Rate: £300 (Umbrella), Inside IR35
Location: London, Local Authority Sector (onsite)
Interviews: Will take place immediately with a view to a start shortly thereafter
Overview
Lead and manage a team delivering a high-quality, value-for-money neighbourhood housing service. The role ensures effective housing advice, strong stakeholder engagement, safe and sustainable communities, and improved resident satisfaction and quality of life.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a team of Housing Officers and Assistants to deliver efficient and effective neighbourhood housing services.
* Contribute to the development and delivery of business plans and budgets for neighbourhood services.
* Ensure team members understand their contribution to corporate objectives and promote engagement, motivation, and accountability.
* Work with stakeholders and local communities to provide joined-up services that enhance residents’ quality of life.
* Monitor adherence to tenancy terms and conditions, including tenancy checks and estate inspections, to maintain excellent estate standards.
* Ensure compliance with recommendations from fire risk assessments and other regulatory obligations.
* Deliver effective approaches to anti-social behaviour and domestic violence cases, ensuring timely and sensitive responses.
* Manage voids, rehousing, and lettings processes to maximise income and maintain efficient turnover.
* Represent housing services at forums, internal/external meetings, and court hearings as required.
* Drive service improvement and continuous learning by analysing KPIs, resolving complaints, and implementing innovative solutions.
* Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in service delivery and staff management.
* Build strong partnerships with residents, tenant and resident associations, council teams, third sector organisations, and other stakeholders.
* Ensure decisions and actions support sustainability and environmental initiatives.
* Experience working for a local authority highly desired
The post holder may be required to undertake other duties appropriate to their skills and experience and adapt to changing service needs.
