Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Transport Manager to oversee our logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in management and a passion for optimising supply chain processes. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient transportation of goods while maintaining high standards of customer service. The Transport Manager will lead a team, coordinate logistics, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Duties
* Manage and oversee all transport operations, ensuring timely delivery of goods.
* Develop and implement effective logistics strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
* Coordinate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to facilitate smooth supply chain processes.
* Maintain accurate records of transport activities and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
* Lead, train, and motivate the transport team to achieve performance targets.
* Utilise Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, for reporting and communication purposes.
* Foster strong relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns promptly.
* Monitor transport costs and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
* Ensure all vehicles are maintained in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
Experience
* Proven experience in management within the transport or logistics sector is essential.
* Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and practices.
* Excellent driving skills with a valid driving licence; experience operating commercial vehicles is advantageous.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required; familiarity with IT systems related to logistics is a plus.
* Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a focus on team development and performance improvement.
