Job Description
Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in Oxfordshire for a Management Accountant to join the team on a temporary basis. The postholder will work within a collaborative finance team, you will provide high-quality management accounting support to service areas, helping budget holders make informed financial decisions while ensuring strong financial governance and reporting standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide financial support, guidance and budget monitoring assistance to cost centre managers across a range of service areas
* Prepare and maintain accurate management accounting information, including journals, accruals, forecasts and budget adjustments
* Support monthly corporate reporting processes, financial modelling and the preparation of working papers for year-end accounts
* Contribute to process improvement initiatives, system enhancements and the development of efficient financial reporting practices
Candidate Criteria
* Part-qualified accountant or AAT qualified (or equivalent) with experience in management accounting and budget monitoring
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and present findings clearly to stakeholders at all levels
* Experience supporting non-finance managers and explaining financial information in a practical and accessible way
* Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities effectively in a collaborative environment
