Production Planner
We are recruiting for a Production Planner to work for our client who are located in the Clayton West are of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.
We are now looking for an organised and driven Production Planner to join our operations team and play a key role in ensuring our production processes run smoothly and efficiently.
The Role:
As a Production Planner, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining detailed production schedules, coordinating resources, and ensuring materials and components are available to meet project deadlines. Working closely with the engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams, you will help balance workloads, optimise capacity, and maintain on-time delivery performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, maintain, and monitor production schedules based on customer orders, project timelines, and resource availability.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and production teams to ensure all materials, tooling, and documentation are in place ahead of production runs.
• Analyse capacity, lead times, and labour availability to identify potential bottlenecks or delays.
• Communicate schedule changes and priorities to relevant departments to ensure alignment across the business.
• Maintain ERP/MRP data accuracy and use system outputs to support decision-making.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline planning and manufacturing processes.
• Produce and analyse reports on production performance and delivery metrics.
About You:
• Proven experience in a Production Planning or Scheduling role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, BOMs, and routing.
• Competent user of ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on accuracy and problem-solving.
• A qualification in engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, or a related discipline is desirable.
THE HOURS:
Working on days – Monday – Thursday 8am – 4.30pm Friday 8am -12pm
THE PAY:
You will earn an annual salary of between £36k-40k depending on experience.
